Sodalite is a rich royal blue tectosilicate mineral, and is a member of the group with hauyne, nosean, lazurite and tugtupite. Its first discovery was by Europeans in 1811 in the Ilimaussaq intrusive complex in Greenland. It is known for encouraging rational thoughts, objectivity, truth and intuition, along with verbalisation of feelings.
